the wisest way

can illuminate people.
However, the wisest way
is life.

Being a human,
having a life,
involving ourselves in.
It's the deepest, most effective, securest way
to make sure that
we could be illuminated.

Just as a dandelion

After finish the regular education,
we hesitate to choose;
we travel in will.

What kind of job do I want to have?
Should I stay at this company or that?
This one could be my life companion?
Should I study abroad?

Just as a dandelion,
floating in wind, searching the place,
then wait for falling down.

Day by day,
someone married,
someone have a café’ and enjoy the simple life,
someone complain their job,
but you know they don’t want to change to other place.
Just as a dandelion,
fall down somewhere
in their life journey.

However,
dear my old friend,
we still is floating.

The cafe' I miss

“Jack’s magic been” (傑克魔豆)is a café I miss. It was a second floor of an old concrete building in Gong Guan district. The fist time I was there was almost ten years ago, when I was a high school student. As I studied in graduate school, some times I went there too. I usually ordered some drinks and chose a comfortable seat, then reading my book. It was a warm place you can spend a whole afternoon and then left with satisfaction.

The most important reason which supported people felling comfortable was the seats arrange way. Everyone came here can easily separate that place into three parts: front, middle and last. When you go up a narrow wooden staircase to second floor, opening the wooden door, turning right, you can see the front area. According to the seat form, it also has two parts. On the right, there are three little square tables . Next to these tables, there is a long wooden pew and several pillows sleeping on that. To me, this part is the best choice. If I were lucky, I could have a corner seat in that. On the left, there are three bigger tables. Each table has four chairs, fresh air and sunshine. I also like have a seat there, however these are popular area and I could feel unfair to the café owner if I were the one and selfishly enjoyed four seats.

When you stand in front of the entrance and turn left, you can see the middle area. There is a bar, just on your right. This is a long wooden table; however I rarely see one sitting there. Behind the bar, there is a door with curtain through kitchen. Simple warm dishes all come from that. In front of the bar, there tables arrange along wall. Each table has a library lamp and four chairs. This area usually is so quite. Keep walking forward; you are in the last part. There is a space for group. One big long wooden table stands with several chairs. I saw some region meeting and reading meeting there, but not many times. I usually just pass that, and go to the end place, the wishing room.

Every one can find a seat suits her or him there. I think that is why “Jack’s magic been” is so magic. However, almost one half years ago, the café owner changed from a couple to a mid-age woman. Half year latter, an India curry restaurant substituted the café. “Jack’s magic been” disappeared forever. I am not familiar with the owner of “Jack’s magic been”, but the image of the café is in my mind forever.

Two different districts in Taipei

Many foreigners have the first image in Taiwan: disorder, motorcycle riders filled of streets, air pollution. However that is just a piece of phenomenon of Taiwan, because Taiwan have many different regions, for example: shiny and windy Ken-Ting, spectacular Ta-Ro-Ko, being like “little Switzerland” Chi-Ke Mountain. The first image almost comes from urban areas. In fact, that usually comes from Taipei. Nevertheless Taipei has many different districts. If you lived here long time enough, you would find it’s hard to put these different districts into one.In this short article, I choose two different districts : “Xin-Yi ”and “Da-Tong” .Then, try to compare with each other in a simple way.

Many districts in Taipei mixing residential areas and commercials area excepts Xin-Yi district. Most parts of Xin-Yi are commercial areas which planning according to Modernism. When you walk on that , you may feel just in American big cities: clear blocks, broad and straight streets (just for cars), modern tall buildings, wide pedestrian roads separate the activity in buildings and streets. Many fashion department stores spread on and many expensive proud apartments stood in. However It’s not any help for walking. Buildings just are like shining checkers on the checked board and people walk through that just small as ant.

“Da-Tong” also is a commercial area since one hundred years ago. Resulting from the development of port near Dan-Shui river, there were many commercial activities in “Da-Tong” district. Now people can feel and image through those ancient buildings ,streets and several old stores. The characters in “Da-Tong” are very different from “Xin-Yi ”. The buildings in that usually are two floors or three floors. Floor one is for commercial and upper floors are used for family or storing products. The pedestrian area always is in front of buildings and belongs to buildings. That means when people walking, they walk around the edge of buildings. They can easily see what new products are and escape rain or burning hot. The relationship between people is closer than “Xin-Yi ”.Moreover, different activities can really mix.

Although they both are commercial areas, they display different personality and support different activities, different people. Even the same people in these two area, they may gesture different way. “Xin-Yi ”and “Da-Tong” are two extreme points in a line: modern and traditional, west-like and east-like.

She is tall. In some people mind , she is even huge. She hope she can be smaller, because most people think smaller figure is suiting or cute for girls. “You are so tall ! ” and “why you are so tall?” People always say that to her when they first meet. “The reason I am tall is that I want you feel jealous and angry ” After facing about one hundred that kind of questions, she choose that answer to respond.

She has a black long wavy hair. Actually the length of her hair is not really long to most girls .However it is long to her, because that’s a result for two years and from her determination. Sometime she spread her hair, and sometime she use little thing to hold and up her hair. Her ears always wear ear rings, because she thinks ear rings can modify her face type and give little interesting to her style. At times she wears big ear rings (over four centimeter long) but most time she wears conservative silver ear rings.

Eyes is the most beautiful part on her face. However, since she was elementary school student, she wore very heavy glasses. These glasses just was like bottom of bottle covered her eyes and also cover her face .Until she growing up, having a desire to become beauty, she wore contact glasses. But she remember when she wore her first contact glasses and prepared to join the party for freshman, she missed one glass after having a sneeze.

Her nose is little bigger. Although that’s ok to come with her eyes, you can still feel it’s bigger when she wore her heavy glasses. That’s why she hate her nose when she was in childhood. The nose inherit from her dad. Her grand father also have the one. Her upper lip has little defeat ,if you observed her face you would found that. She though that’s because she imitated a female teacher who has too thick lips. The lady was her kindergarten teacher. She though the lady was very pretty so she caught the obvious feature to imitate. However, when she growing up she realize that part is defeat for the pretty lady. In another words, the teacher have a good looking face unless her lips.

about her favorite food

She used to have good and big appetite, but now she usually doesn’t want to admit. She can enjoy the delicious food, however she also easily satisfies normal food. She like eat soup very much .When she did not became a vegetarian, she liked pig bone soup. Since two years ago, she did not eat meat , soup made from vegetable was her favor. As many woman , she like to eat sweat. Ice cream, chocolate, cake……she cannot reject that kinds of food.

about her cell phone

She used to don’t care about that kinds of electronic communication product, so the one she uses just got from her brother. When her brother had a new one , she asked him giving the old one to her. That’s an old style cell phone and the function is also simple too. Although the color of phone surface is vague through many years, she still don’t want to get new one. However, recently she met a man he lives in Taichung. The relationship between two people maybe become closer, so she stars thinking that communication tool is important and want to have a new cell phone with more functions.
